The hammam room, zellige walls under a tadelakt vault: black soap in a copper bowl, argan oil, kessa mitts and lit candles.

From the house

Hammam & spa

Steam, black soap and the mitt — in the hands of people who have been doing this a long time.

Heat first, for a long time, until the skin gives. Then the black soap, then the mitt. A hammam does not need much explaining: you hand yourself over to someone who does this for a living, and you come out with your skin tight and your head completely empty.

The team is as used to people who have never set foot in one as to people who have made a habit of it. Treatments and massages are chosen individually, from the briefest to the longest, and nothing obliges you to start with the most daunting.

The activity is booked through the house, on arrival or before.

The sitting room: low olive-green banquettes, white cotton curtains tied back with red tassels, and green arabesques painted by hand across the ceiling.
